this shape began as a silicone pastry mold designed by ukrainian pastry chef dinara kasko. i came across it while searching for molds to make rum babas for my mother-in-law’s 90th birthday, and instead brought it into the studio to adapt for candles.
cast in pure beeswax, it burns with a steady flame and carries the natural scent of honey. the beeswax is colored in small batches with aniline dyes, producing deep, rich hues while allowing the character of the wax to show through.
