L'ouvriere Candles are made from 100% pure beeswax and are hand poured and finished in our studio in upstate NY. The beeswax is colored in small batches with aniline dyes that produce deep, rich hues. Darker tones are generally formulated with raw yellow beeswax. Lighter shades are produced using "whitened" beeswax, which is mechanically rather than chemically processed and retains a creamy soft white hue and scent of beeswax.
  • Each candle is made with the appropriate length wick for initial lighting. Before re- lighting trim wick to 1/4 inch. To achieve maximum burning time and the least amount of dripping we suggest burning 2-3 hours at a time, then allowing to cool before re-lighting.

  • Always burn candles on a fire proof surface away from drafts. Do not leave burning candles unattended. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

  • If stored over time, particularly at cool temperatures, beeswax will develop a "bloom," a light powdery coating.  Some prefer this look, but if you do not, simply rub the candle with your warm hands or use a blow dryer at a low setting to remove it.  Store candles out of direct light and separate colors to prevent bleeding.
